I’ve been busy making some new crafty things including some super cute updated “Tote2Go!” shopping tote bags! (Pics to be posted when they’re ready!). They’re modeled after our loved/hated standard plastic grocery bags, but a million times better for the environment (since they’re reuseable) and a ba-zillion times cuter! I’m using reclaimed fabrics (thrift store finds, donations, clearance remnants) along with a small percentage of amazing sale yardage to create my fully lined, flat-bottomed, snap topped shopping totes that reduce down to 1/4 of their size into their attached pocket / stuff bag. They’ll be on sale at my soon-to-be-open Etsy store shortly…Speaking of my Etsy store: I also had a great time creating a cute banner for: imakecutestuff.etsy.com Check it out and let me know what you think! It features my sweet little cactus pincushions:
These guys are soooo fun to make! I actually use my little singer “knitting machine” (Thanks Julie!) to knit little tubes of wool yarn. Then I remove them oh-so carefully and knit bottoms on them to make the pot shape. I hand full (aka: felt) them down, down, down until they’re as small as I want them to be. Such a cool process! I am letting myself think that this method is faster than hand-knitting — so let me live with that little fantasy, ok? hahaha!!!
